MUSAMA CHOIR CHRISTENED “THE MUSIC STARS OF AFRICA”, WINS TROPHY

The Musama Disco Christo Church Choir wins the 3rd annual Brotherhood of the Cross and Star (BCS) International Choral Festival held in Ghana with a cash award of 3,000 USA Dollars and a giant trophy.


The choir as part of its winning recognition is christened “The Music Stars of Africa”.

13-reputable choirs from BCS, other denomination and non-denominational choirs including Musama Disco Christo Church, Heart and Voice Presby Choral, Fire Vibrators of the Ghana National Fire Service, Odehei Minstrel Group, Echoes of Heaven International Choral, BCS Ghana, BCS Liberia and BCS Nigeria State central choirs; Abuja FCT, Akwa Ibom State, Cross Rivers States, Rivers State, Imo State and Lagos State participated in the Choral Festival to glorify the Star in Africa and the liberation of Africa through melodious songs.

The Choral Festival with the theme “Celebrating the Star in Africa” was graced by the physical presence of the universal Leader of BCS, His Holiness Olumba Olumba Obu. Other invited personalities like the Central Regional Minister, Mr. Acquains Tawiah Quansah, heads of other church denomination registered their presence at the event.

More so, the event was well attended by members of BCS from all walks of life including Nigeria, Liberia, Ivory Coast, United Kingdom, USA and Germany among other countries.

The BCS International Choral Festival is one of the gospel choral exhibitions in the world featuring reputable choirs from different institutions, organizations and communities across the world. The aim is to exhibit natural music as well as to promote Brotherhood in diversity. It was hosted at Ellispark Arena in Johannesburg in October, 2013/14 in South Africa.

BCS Ghana will again host the 2016 International Choral Festival.
Qualified music experts from BCS and music institutions constituted panel of judges of the competition and produced the following results:

2nd – BCS Akwa Ibom State Central Choir (Nigeria)
3rd - Odehei Minstrel Group (Ghana)
4th - Cross Rivers State Central Choir  (Nigeria)
5th - Fire Vibrators (Ghana)
6th – BCS Abuja FCT/ Lagos State Central Choir (Nigeria)
7th – BCS Rivers States Central Choir (Nigeria)
8th – BCS Imo State Central Choir
9th – Echoes of Heaven International Choral
10th - BCS Ghana
11th - Heart and Voice Presby Choral
12th - BCS Liberia Choir
